Blink and you'll miss it - temporary art in Madison

Performance of Bobbette Rose's paintings and Jeffrey Pohorski's images being projected over Betsy Delzer's paintings on a University Avenue apartment building.

Now this really is a clever idea, and very cool that the City of Madison is supporting it via the Madison Arts Commission.

BLINK is an opportunity for experimental, ad-hoc, temporary works of art to sprout up throughout the community and vanish leaving residents and visitors eager to see what is next. Madison neighborhoods and urban areas are open canvases. The possibilities for creations on open spaces, construction sites, and public parks will provide a glimpse of how the world looks through an artist’s eyes.

You can submit your own proposal for a temporary art installation via the above-linked website. They're taking applications now until Feb. 1, 2012.
